Wagon Wheel Records & Books

Wagon Wheel Records & Books was founded by Bob Ruff, a dedicated school teacher and nationally known square dance caller. During his years teaching physical education, Bob noticed that many of his students continued to participate in sports such as volleyball, basketball, and softball long after they left school. These sports became the focus on enjoyable recreational get-togethers with friends, relativies, and community groups. His dream was to give boys and girls an enjoyable experience learning modern square dancing so that it would become as much a part of life as other sports activities. To make this dream succeed, he developed a series of instructional square dance records that include The Fundamentals of Square Dancing Levels 1, 2, & 3 and the Square Dance Party for the New Dancer Series 1 & 2 and started teaching teachers and students through the United States his Square Dance Dream.

When Bob retired, he passed on his dream to another dedicated school teacher named Paul James. Since 1991, Paul has continued the Wagon Wheel tradition with the popular square dance series now in CD format.

Wagon Wheel Records and Books is a major music source for teachers and is listed in college textbooks and organizations around the country.
